📚 This Week's Money Lesson

Renters Rights - The Biggest Changes in a Generation

If you rent in England - this affects you directly.

The Renters Rights Bill is making its way through parliament and brings the biggest changes to renting in decades. Here's what's changing:

No fault evictions abolished - Your landlord can no longer evict you without a valid reason. Currently they can give you 2 months notice and remove you for no reason at all. That's ending.

Rent increases restricted - Landlords will only be able to increase rent once per year and must give proper notice. No more surprise mid-tenancy hikes.

Bidding wars banned - Landlords and agents won't be able to accept offers above the advertised asking rent. No more being outbid on a rental property.

Pets allowed by default - Landlords must consider pet requests and can only refuse with good reason.

The bottom line: If you rent - your rights are about to get significantly stronger. Worth knowing exactly where you stand.

📩 That's it for this week.

If this saved you money — forward it to one person who needs it.

See you next Friday, Will
